I'm building a spaceship to get out of here
I'm trading humans for the Final Frontier
Yeah, social interaction is the object of my fears, 'cuz...

Love Just Isn't Easy
03:38
|
|||
She thought everything was perfect in her life
Ever since the day she met that special guy
But it looks like how she thought it would turn out was not quite how she planned
Especially when she saw him sitting with her best friend, talking, holding hands
Now she knows what they mean
Now she knows why they say
That love just isn’t easy
Everyone’s meeting love
For the first time today
And love just isn’t easy
(Love just isn’t easy)
He thought life was just the circle of his friends
And all this talk of loving others was just pretend
But then he found a little book, opened it up, and read the words it said
And now he’s starting to think over these few years of life that he has led
Now he knows what they mean
Now he knows why they say
That love just isn’t easy
Everyone’s meeting love
For the first time today
And love just isn’t easy
Now she knows what they mean
Now he knows why they say
That love just isn’t easy
Everyone’s meeting love
For the first time today
And love just isn’t easy

The Rumor
03:51
|
|||
So, you have a secret?
Well, I wanna hear it
I promise that I won’t tell anyone
No way! you say you like the new girl at school?!
Well, maybe I’ll just mention it to Jordan
(Won’t this be fun?)
Then Jordan told Matt, who told Jake, who told Pat
And so on, and so forth, and so it grew
But the word got around, and I guess that girl found out
And this is what I heard: she hates you
So, sorry I spoke,
But she thinks you’re a joke
But look on the bright side: at least you know
I know this must be really depressing for you,
But you shouldn’t have to feel so low,
‘Cuz maybe you should see her face to face
And ask her if it’s true, just in case
But rumor has it, she hates you, of course
And you can trust me ‘cuz I know I got it from
A reliable source, you see:
Jordan told Matt, who told Jake, who told Pat
And so on, and so forth, and so it grew
But the word got around, and I guess that girl found out
And this is what I heard: she hates you
So the two of you meet after school
And you’re trying really hard to keep your cool
You ask her why she said that she hates you
And she said it’s cuz she thought you hate her, too
‘Cuz Jordan told Matt, who told Jake, who told Pat
And the story switched around as it grew
So even though you would date her, she was told that you hate her
And that is why she said that she hates you
‘Cuz Jordan told Matt, who told Jake, who told Pat
And the story switched around as it grew
So even though you would date her, she was told that you hate her
And that is why she said that she hates you

Confusion
03:24
|
|||
Am I crazy
If I’m not sure what to think anymore?
I’m the wreckage of a mental war
Am I hopeless
If my hope is in uncharted lands?
Cuz my hope is to hold your hand
Tried to ask my conscience how it felt about this
No answer, so I’m pretty sure my conscience quit
And judging by the silence that I get from logic
I wonder if it’s best just not to bother it
Take a bow, exit stage
Were you an illusion?
Cuz I’m not down for darker days
Hear me out; I’m drowning in confusion
I prayed
But maybe that was my first mistake
I did it for your sake with everything at stake
Long nights, wide awake as if the night before a wake
In the wake of a feeling that I hope isn’t fake
Give me a (break!) I’ve got confusion like a leveled-up Butterfree
Which makes it really hard to see you standing right in front of me
But apparitions tend to fade and I can tell it’s getting late
I prayed, but maybe that was my first mistake
Trying to convince myself this feeling is a lie
Trying to convince myself this feeling shouldn’t die
Take a bow, exit stage
Were you an illusion?
Cuz I’m not down for darker days
Hear me out; I’m drowning down now
Take a bow, exit stage
Were you an illusion?
Cuz I’m not down for darker days
Hear me out; I’m drowning in confusion
I’ll hold on tight, and maybe this will come to an end
Take a bow, exit stage
Were you an illusion?
Cuz I’m not down for darker days
Hear me out; I’m drowning down now
Take a bow, exit stage
Were you an illusion?
Cuz I’m not down for darker days
Hear me out; I’m drowning in confusion

Natural
04:21
|
|||
Look away when we connect
Are you afraid?
Do we pretend?
Guard your heart from everyone
That makes you feel
Panic attack
Everyone wants to feel it (alive)
Everyone wants to feel it
Everybody wants to be loved
Everyone wants to feel it (alive)
Everyone wants to feel it
It’s only natural
All these years I’ve spent alone
Don’t even know
How this thing goes
You are everything I lack
So you make me feel
Panic attack
But everyone wants to feel it (alive)
Everyone wants to feel it
Everybody wants to be loved
Everyone wants to feel it (alive)
Everyone wants to feel it
It's only natural
I could pretend there’s something there
To save me from affliction
I could pretend there’s nothing there
To save me from rejection
But I have no clue which one’s true
So I can’t really do either
But I have this Spirit in my head
Says “Don’t pretend; instead I’ll show you trust”
And everyone wants to feel it (alive)
Everyone wants to feel it
Everybody wants to be loved
Everyone wants to feel it (alive)
Everyone wants to feel it
It's only natural
You’re not a weirdo
You’re not a lost cause
And yeah, I see you
I got you covered
I’m not a weirdo
I’m not a lost cause
And yeah, I see you
Heck yeah, I see you!

While We're Both Here
04:44
|
|||
Why are you hiding?
Just what have you to prove?
Why are you hiding
The truth
And why are you sighing?
What have you left to lose?
Why are you denying
It’s you?
While we’re both here
It’s all so clear
It’s all so clear
Smiles are deceiving
And laughter can cause tears
I think you’re hiding
Your fears
I’m simply finding
That all things are made new
Why are you denying
It’s true?
While we’re both here
It’s all so clear
It’s all so clear
You got the death in the rewind
Burning out
So fast-forward to the honest shout
You got the death in the rewind…
Burn it out
While we’re both here
It’s all so clear
It’s all so clear

Tennis Love
03:57
|
|||
He was a quiet guy, just a little bit shy
The kind of guy that didn't cause a lot of racket
So he could keep it lean, he joined the tennis team
But any skill that you could name, he probably lacked it
He was convinced that love meant nothing to him, until he saw her practicing on the tennis court
Never thought he'd have a change of courting anyone, yeah at the baseline of things, he knew he fell short
But he'd play a match against her any day
Just to see her do that fore-swing
He'd serve an ace into her heart and maybe she'd agree
The two of them would make a perfect doubles team
He needed a new spin on things to get the ball rolling
But he was certain she'd say "deuces" and bounce out
He felt caught in a net; his mind could never let
Him find a way he thought she'd like to know what he's about
He figured if he took advantage of their common interests, maybe there'd be a chance she'd think he was a good catch
And so he chose to try to set up a time to volley, and he just hoped that she was looking for a good match
He told himself she was out of his league, quite literally
Because this year he got stuck on JV, while she made varsity
But he'd play a match against her any day
Just to see her do that fore-swing
He'd serve an ace into her heart and maybe she'd agree
The two of them would make a perfect doubles team
So there she was; it was time to follow through
Took his approach shot, saying "Hey Allie, how do you do?
I'm not a great line judge, so please feel free to overrule,
But if we hung out, that'd be cool"
'Cuz he'd play a match against her anyday
Just to see her do that back-swing
He served an ace into her heart and said, "Girl, please agree,
The two of us would make a perfect doubles team"
Now he plays a match against her every day
Just to see her do that back-swing
He served an ace into her heart and you bet she agreed
The two of them would make a perfect doubles team

Allergies

I believe the question should have popped into your mind by now
Isn’t that a little bit ironic?
Can’t you see that you and He are falling farther out?
Your life’s spinning round and round, like Sonic
So take your wings and run away
‘Cuz you can’t fly there
And you can't fly, not anymore
Unless you hold fast to the wind
You know it’s there, but it blows the other way
Yeah, it blows the other way
Looking for excuses, and you think they really matter to me
Isn’t that a little bit ironic?
Call yourself a hero, or a rebel, or a lover, maybe
I wonder if deception is just chronic?
So take your wings and run away
‘Cuz you can’t fly there
And you can't fly, not anymore
And take your halo
Toss it into the sea
‘Cuz that’s not you, now
And that’s not us, it never was
Unless you hold fast to the wind
You know it’s there, but it blows the other way
Oh, it blows the other way...
So take your wings and run away
‘Cuz you can’t fly there
And you can't fly, not anymore
And take your halo
Toss it into the sea
‘Cuz that’s not you, now
‘Cuz that’s not us, it never was
This song is about you, but I don’t think it’s about me, too
Isn’t that a little bit ironic?

Not Having You Around
04:07
|
|||
It’s been a while since I’ve seen your smiling face
It’s been some time since you last set a foot inside this place, so
I was just wonderin’ if this is the end, ‘cuz I’m not good at goodbyes
I’m not a hugger, but I’ll give it a shot if you open up your eyes
I speak for everyone
When I say it’s been to long
Maybe when you play this song, and you hear the sound
You’ll realize we miss having you around
So how’s life outside of life? You know exactly what I mean
How’s fun outside of fun? It’s not that fun without a family
I was just wonderin’ if this is the end, ‘cuz I’m not good at goodbyes
I’m not a scolder, but I’d give it a shot if it would open up your eyes
I speak for everyone
When I say it’s been to long
Maybe when you play this song, and you hear the sound
You’ll realize we miss having you around
I speak for everyone
When I say it’s been to long
Maybe when you play this song, and you hear the sound
You’ll realize we miss having you around
I speak for everyone
When I say it’s been to long
Maybe when you play this song, and you hear the sound
You’ll realize we miss having you around

A Pathetic
05:21
|
|||
I’ve written enough songs about you
Yeah, you'd think I’d call it quits
‘Cuz it’s gone on for too long, like a bad cold
And I’m just getting sick of this
And if this won’t change, then I can’t force it
You think you could figure it out on your own
If I was gone?
And have you heard my prayers? Are they workin’?
Building doorways in your head?
‘Cuz you left all my concerns on your top shelf
Maybe they’ll fall and knock you dead!
Looks like this won’t change, and I know you’ll hate it:
Figuring it out on your own
When I am gone
I threw my heart to your feet, but you never saw it there
(You didn’t care)
But I won’t take it back, no I just hope you learn how to stop and stare
They’ll tell you that they love you, just like they tell everyone
But they won’t tell you all the crap you’ll find there, underneath their cursed sun
And now you’re gone

Spaceship to Prom
07:05
|
|||
Exiting atmosphere
Far away from all your fears
Just like you wanted
Notice the planet as it’s
Starting to lose its grip
From the window of your little spaceship
Among the moon and sun and stars
You’re the introvert with the giant question mark
Take my hand
We’ll show this place just how to dance, I’ll
Take this chance
To prove to you the true romance right now
This isn’t the ending you expected,
Let’s be honest, here
You were supposed to turn at the last second
Surprise everyone as you walk right in there
Either that, or you would sit here
And you’d write a song
So proud of how you were different
Both those guesses were quite wrong, so
Take my hand
We’ll show this place just how to dance, I’ll
Take this chance
To prove to you the true romance right now
Take my hand
We’ll show this place just how to dance, I’ll
Take this chance
To prove to you the true romance right now
Why would you hip-hop
When you can rock and roll?
I’d rather lose myself
Than lose my soul
(Don’t step out of the light
‘Cuz you’re on fire tonight
And don’t step out of my sight
‘Cuz you’re on fire tonight)
((Am I malfunctioning?
I think there’s something wrong with me now))
Let’s turn this thing around
Find your way back towards the ground
Notice: your heart’s changed
Notice the gravity that’s
Starting to pull you back
Feels just like a heart-attack
Among the clouds and sun and sky
You’re the chosen one, with the young, wide eyes, so
Take my hand
We’ll show this place just how to dance, I’ll
Take this chance
To prove to you the true romance right now
Take my hand
We’ll show this place just how to dance, I’ll
Take this chance
To prove to you the true romance right now
